Can men have permanent make up?

What is Permanent Make up?

permanent cosmetics is an advanced form of cosmetic tattooing and is similar to conventional tattooing but the pigment is not planted as deep. It is a relatively recent phenomenon, becoming more relevant in the past 15 years it is not an extreme art but one of subtle harmony. It is the implantation of a pigment suspended in a medium into the dermis or under the skin instead of on top as with traditional make up. It is a method of applying natural pigments to the dermal layer of the skin. It is medically proven and designed to be completely safe.

Is the treatment safe?

All the equipment used complies with all the relevant health and safety requirements. All needles are disposable, sterile and of the highest quality. Sterilisation and hygiene is of the utmost importance before, during and after the treatment.

How long will my Permanent make-up last?

permanent make-up will last from 18 months to 3 years depending on your age, exposure to UV light and lifestyle. Clients may require 2 initial sessions to complete the treatment. To maintain the colour intensity, it is recommended to return for a retouch every 12-18 months to boost the colour. These touch-ups take less time to complete and are priced accordingly.

How long does each procedure take?

Following the initial consultation the actual procedure will take on average 1.5 - 2 hours

Is the procedure painful?

A topical anesthetic is applied prior and during each procedure to numb the epidermis and help ease any discomfort. Every client is different and some will feel vibrating or a scratch sensation; others will feel nothing at all. Most clients agree permanent make-up procedures are far more comfortable than anticipated.

What happens after the treatment?

The treated area should be kept clean. but not scrubbed or rubbed. Excess pigment on the skin surface will be shed without disturbing the implanted pigment. A healing balm can be applied to aid the healing process.

After treatment recommendations

Avoid cosmetic procedures, swimming pools, saunas, steam rooms or sun beds for at least 6 days. Avoid rubbing the treated area during healing period. Avoid any Mascara for eyes 3-4 days. To greatly prolong the effective life of these procedures the application of sun block on eyebrows, sunglasses for eyeliner, and SPF on lips is recommended.

How Long Will It Take To Recover?

Generally, the colour will be most visible for the first three days. You may also experience light to moderate swelling (for some this can last for 1-2 days), especially with eyeliner and lip procedures. After the initial three days, the healing skin will begin to gently flake off and the treated area will lighten. Most can return to normal daily activities right away.

Do I Have A Choice Of Colours?

There are many colors to choose from. Your natural skin colour, eye colour and hair colour are taken into consideration in creating a wonderful natural custom shade just right for you. Each client is like a blank artist's canvas and together we will create a beautiful face!

Are There Any Side Effects Or Risks?

Since all treatments require a skin sensitivity test this eliminates the possibility for any type of allergic reaction. Any concerns you may have about existing medical conditions can be discussed during our consultation prior to treatment. Some swelling after a permanent make-up procedure is normal and will pass quickly, usually after a day.
